Corporate Social Responsibility is the continuing commitment by business to behave ethically and contribute to economic development while improving the quality of life of the workforce and their families as well as of the local community and society at large. In order to help and uplift the community and the society which seek for helping hands, project “WINGS” has been launched by TIIKM with the theme of “Help, Learn, Fly”.
Through “Wings” we initially attempt to identify and support the youngsters with the educational needs, which is covered in the phase of “Help”. Then in the phase of “Learn”, we focus on nurturing young minds through education and leadership. Finally, the phase “Fly” is designed to provide opportunities for young talents and skills, and bring them in to lime light.
Under the project “WINGS” , TIIKM has two sub projects namely the project “Savisara”, which empowers more than 2000 school children who are in 15-19 age limit of 15 schools in Southern province, Sri Lanka, and the project “Natural Disaster Educational Reconstruction”, which is Still in the planning stage. Through this sub project we look forward to help and fund the educational reconstruction programs such as the Tsunami school reconstruction, emerged after the natural disasters which hit the nation.
The needed finance for all the above mentioned projects are systematically funded from the Institute profits, individual and corporate contributions and from till collections at TIIKM Conferences. 100% visibility, transparency and the accountability is guaranteed with regard to our CSR activities as a separate account is opened to each CSR project, which is then handled by company auditors. The Board of Directors of TIIKM is responsible for passing payment and funds for every CSR activity carried out.
